This 4 week series looking at the book of Jonah shows us the two sides of “pursuing grace”, in that part of God’s act of grace is to pursue us even while we have rebelled, and then also that even as believers we need to continue to pursue God’s grace as we live in a broken world.

The second chapter ends our “fish story”, and what we need to realise is that for the most part, Jonah still thinks he is facing God’s wrath, now being digested in the bellyt of a fish instead of simply drowning at sea. This, however, gives him the time and opportunity to cry out to God in his affliction, realise his helplessness, and God’s control.
