This 4 week series looking at the book of Jonah shows us the two sides of “pursuing grace”, in that part of God’s act of grace is to pursue us even while we have rebelled, and then also that even as believers we need to continue to pursue God’s grace as we live in a broken world.

The first chapter is only the first part of the ‘fish story’ – we often water down the story of “Jonah and the Whale” and make it a great kids story, but we lose so much of what Scripture is trying to communicate with us. God is the main character of the story, not Jonah, not the fish; and God’s character is what we learn about – that He is in control, that rebelling against Him has a great cost, and that even when we have rebelled He offers us a free gift in His grace.
