TITLE: The Purpose of the Church #3 – Perfecting the Saints

Over these three weeks we’re looking at the three different purposes of the Church. Starting with “Worship”, then “Mission”, this week we look at the final purpose, that of “Perfecting the Saints”. This title comes from the literal translation from the Greek of Ephesians 4:12 where Paul says Jesus has given this gifts to the Church “for the perfecting of the saints to their ministry for the strengthening of the Church”.

In this 10 week sermon series, we are goin to take an indepth look at being a Biblical Church.  Knowing our Identity as Christ’s Church is fundamental for the Christian, because our lives are designed to be lived in community.  Jesus has saved us not just as individuals but as ‘His people, a Holy Nation’ and we only truly find our identity as a believer when we find our identity in the Church.
